About Agate Beach
Agate Bay is a small cove nestled between large rock outcroppings along the Strait of Jaun de Fuca. Rather than sand, this beach is comprised of unique rocks that have been tumbled smooth by the never ending surf. Although there are countless types of rocks mixed together, the beach gets its name from the amount of natural Agates found on its shores. In addition to the rocks, every tide brings in a unique collection of shells and driftwood to make it a beach combers paradise.
Most guests are also fascinated with the wildlife that calls this secluded bay home. Eagles soar overhead as seals play in the water both in search of the salmon that swim beneath the waves. On shore deer enjoy lounging on the rocks that have been warmed by the summer sun. If you watch long enough, you may spot a whale or two showing off in the distance!
There is really no way to describe such a unique place, the only way to do it justice is to come and experience it for yourself!
